Stone Grinding

Grinding a surface will smooth imperfections, remove deep scratches, stains and other contaminants from your stone floors and thus allow for a honed (matte) or polished finish to be built. Grinding can also be done to level uneven tiles which can often occur after installation.

The key difference being that grinding is an aggressive approach to refinishing stone, using a diamond grit heavy floor buffer to remove deep scratches, whereas honing is a similar but less aggressive approach that uses less coarse grits than grinding. Honing leaves a matte look and is able to remove minor to moderate scratches. Polishing uses a fine grade to achieve a sleek, polished look.
